A sweet, apple-forward opening with tangerine and juicy forest fruits.
The Inspiration
Turning a word into a work of beauty.
Tulaale takes its name from “Tulaare,” the Hausa word for perfume, and a name once tied to lesser, lower-quality goods. Yusif Meizongo Jnr, who carries his Hausa heritage with pride, set out to reclaim it: to transform a humble word into a symbol of refined beauty. Zesty tangerine, orchid cactus, Bulgarian rose and ambergris meet in a harmonious fusion of florals and woods, redrawing what the name could mean with every wearing.
Hand-composed and finished in Accra, Tulaale is a celebration of Africa’s olfactory artistry, where past and present intertwine and perceptions are beautifully reshaped.

The Perfumer
Why I made This
Tulaale means perfume in Hausa, but the word had been worn down, attached to cheap things. That sat wrong with me. I come from this heritage, and I wanted to give the word back its dignity: tangerine, rose and ambergris made into something genuinely elegant. This one is personal. It is my culture, reimagined.
